Festival Hors Pistes 16ème édition, L’écologie des images February 1-14, 2021 // Adapting to the health situation, the 16th edition of the festival will be digital. For a fortnight, two daily events will bring to life the theme of the ecology of images through encounters with guest artists and thinkers // Can we imagine and practice an ecology of images? Is it possible to replace the conquering images with visions of artists in the form of omens, intent on alerting us to the dangers and possibilities of a planetary transformation whose effects are still to come? These questions will run through the 16th edition of Hors Pistes, a festival dedicated to exploring all forms of moving images, and to meeting those who make them the subject of their creation, thought and writing. Originally conceived around an exhibition, screenings, performances and speech, this 16th edition, now digital, wishes to remain faithful to its initial ambition by articulating original productions (such as the virtual tour of the exhibition) and interventions by great voices of contemporary creation who, each in their own field, combine the quest for ecological sobriety and concern for the living: Kelly Reichardt in cinema, Vinciane Despret in philosophy, Jérôme Bel in contemporary dance, Hito Steyerl or Nicolas Gourault in visual arts, Philippe Descola in the anthropology of images and many others will guide our glances and our steps.
