From the contemplation of the sky in Ardèche to the strong wells of the English Channel, by foot, boat, train or airplane, close by or far away, the images of landscapes filmed by Jacques Perconte are shown in all their states. Between realism and abstraction, most of the time these landscapes play with our gaze, making us realize they are just images.
For this reason, they affirm themselves through unimaginable bright chromatic combinations on screen or paper, revealing the process beyond.
When these images affirm themselves into their dispositive, their platitude comes out.
The horizon disappears, as it is no longer an issue of the symbolic representation of space, but more a real occupation of the plan.
Each cell, pixel and print drop get their freedom from the politics of representation.
